Wilderness Festival 2012
I spent last weekend in a dreamy haze of flowers and fields, sunshine and songs. It was the Wilderness Festival in the Cotswolds, billed as a celebration of the arts & outdoors in the wilds of England and I was part of the Bella & Fifi flower yurt, which they were running along with Canopy and Stars. We provided a pretty haven of tranquillity and blossom amongst the festival madness, making fresh flower garlands and masks for the various parties and balls at the event.
The festival itself combined intellectual talks and debates with feasts and foodie stuff, vintage treats, music, arts and crafts, wild swimming and wild parties. For me the highlights were the masked ball in a glade in the forest, a wild swim in the chilly lakes, the wonderful fashion and fancy dress and the delicious food. In fact the only downside was that the music wasn’t front and centre (for me a festival is ALL about the music!) and that a fair few of the activities were paid for on top of the festival ticket. Other than that the warm atmosphere and creative ambience were a wonderful thing to spend a weekend soaking up… along with plenty of sun.
Here are a few quick phone snaps which I hope can give some idea of the atmosphere of our pretty little yurt and the festival in general:

You can see some fabulous photos on the Wilderness site which show the full range of activity on offer: http://www.wildernessfestival.com/
And why not find out more about the very talented and lovely Bristol-based creative florists Bella & Fifi
And if you're looking for somewhere unusual to stay, like a yurt or treehouse, then have a look at Canopy & Stars
And that's it from me!

Hi Becky, I've been reading quite a bit about the Wilderness Festival and it seems fascinating to me and I am already itching to go in 2013! I have a question - you said that some of the activities had an additional cost (on top of the festival ticket). Which activities were they and roughly how much did they cost? Thanks for your help!
