Inspiring Interiors

I've been really enjoying the beautifully bohemian homes I've been seeing on Pinterest lately. Scattered with rugs, festooned with ferns and styled with lots of pattern, this is maximalism with a sophisticated, elegant palette. As a look I think it's not something you can 'pull off' or 'recreate', it feels like it's something you have to earn. You need to put a bit of time in going to flea markets and antique stores looking for just the right coffee table or cabinet. Pale pink is a colour which is much derided as being girly, childish, too sweet and generally not serious. I'm a big fan of herringbone patterns in interiors and will seek to include them wherever I can... fabrics, art prints, flooring and more. This, though, is the first time I've seen one used on the walls... and I love it! I've got a confession to make... Geometry was not my friend when I was at school. Opening a shop has been something I’ve dreamed of since I was a little girl playing with my sweet shop game (ok, eating the sweets!) and I’m delighted that this is coming true now.  I am a true interiors addict, with heavy copies of Living Etc and Elle Decoration landing in my hallway every month and paint sample pots strewn along every shelf in our cellar.
