Love UK design
With two big celebrations of UK creativity happening right now - London Design Festival and London Fashion Week - it seems like a great time to celebrate some of the fabulous British design we source and sell on our site.
Here are some of our favourite pieces by UK artists, designer/makers and crafters:
Katrine Brosnan is a talented artist and printer based in Nottingham and we were thrilled when she agreed to create a print just for us. This is the result... the fabulous "folks that do coffee" A3 print:
UK crafter Roz hand-knits these pretty little cushions, which we think look rather like a custard cream biscuit and that makes them even more yummy and even more British!
Design duo Orwell and Goode create these wonderful printed lampshades by hand up in the far North of Scotland. Clearly influenced by the nature that surrounds them they create striking woodland scenes featuring hares and stags for beautiful home accessories.
Our greetings cards are fun, creative and handmade here in the UK, including this cute "Aye Aye Captain" card, hand printed by a lovely chap called Theo in London using reclaimed printing blocks and materials.
Last but not least... and not the last of our British designs that's for sure! ... Geometric coasters designed by the Fun Makes Good studio, again in Scotland - obviously it's a very creative place. We love these coasters for being bang on trend, bold and British!

I'm looking forward to a busy weekend celebrating UK design at the London Design Festival. I will be visiting Tent, 100% Design, Decorex and more and reporting back on the trends spotted, new designers to look out for and more. Then the weekend after (29th Sept) we will be celebrating British design in my hometown of Nottingham at the Pretty Dandy Flea... come join us!
