Light Bright Kitchens
Kitchen style has changed immensely over the years. If I think about the kitchens I’ve lived with it’s traded up from a crazy green 70’s number in my parent’s house as a child...
Similar to this, but a little less outlandish! Through a standard white number, a pine country kitchen look, an unusual lilac/grey one, cheap fitted kitchens in student houses right through to a gloss white and warm wood look in my house now.
One thing I've noticed over that time is the push towards a predominant style of "brighter, lighter, cleaner and whiter". Here is a round up of some different kitchens which place the emphasis on maximising natural light, but which use different decor influences, from industrial to country cottage.
If you're considering a kitchen update and have a thing for the bright white look, then I'm sure you can find some inspiration here!
A bright, yet cosy, country kitchen is made by combining white units with an old-fashioned sink and textiles.
A contemporary shiny white kitchen, with a gloss blue splashback for a dash of colour and pale flooring.
A slightly retro kitchen with tall, painted white units and a bright zingy yellow used as an accent colour.
Big windows and white worktops keep this wooden kitchen feeling light
This kitchen uses pale flooring and top to bottom white tiles to stop the black cupboards from feeling dark and heavy
White walls, white units and no curtains/blinds maximises the natural light in this kitchen, while the bold tiled floor keeps things interesting
This traditional style kitchen nods to contemporary style by putting everything in white, and keeps it from feeling cold with a warm wooden floor.
An industrial take on bright light kitchens, with lots of reclaimed items and mix and match furniture. The white floor and tiled shelving make the most of the available light.
I hope you've enjoyed this round up of light white bright kitchens! Which look is your favourite? Is this a style you go for in your home?
My parents are currently in the process of updating their kitchen, so I'm hoping to be able to provide a fun "before and after" on the blog when it's finished, although I can't promise it's going to be a bright, white number. They are discussing the style, materials and design at the moment, so the final decision hasn't yet been made... maybe this post can provide some inspiration!
Thanks for reading.

Very interesting round-up. Personally I lean towards those with a bold splash of colour, and I LOVE that vibrant tiled floor!
