Illustrator Jamie Wignall

I could claim that I've recently discovered a new illustration talent in the form of artist Jamie Wignall, but I would be bending the truth slightly. I first discovered him over ten years ago, when we lived together at university!

Jamie always had a natural skill as an artist and illustrator, but it wasn't until he put his new site up online recently that I realised just what an incredible talent he has. I love the elegance of his lines, the life in his pictures and the delicate use of ink and colour. As a fan of vintage design I can see clear elements of heritage from Mucha to fifties illustration in his work and I love it.

Here are a few of my favourite pieces:

Jamie Wignall Illustration - Gingham

Polar bear illustration by Jamie Wignall

Columbia Road illustration - Jamie Wignall

Houndstooth geese by Jamie Wignall

Fabulous! What do you think?

If you want to see more check out his website. He has just illustrated the new Petula Clark album cover and has recently done some work for Amelia's Magazine too, creating gorgeous fashion illustrations in his distinctive style.

Now all I need to do is try and find a gap in his busy schedule to create a print for Pretty Dandy!

Hope you've enjoyed this little creative profile, I shall try and do more of these over coming months.

happy weekend!
