A whole year of Pretty Dandy
We are celebrating our first birthday in the run up to Christmas by offering 10% off all order (with the code: HOORAY) and super-speedy delivery for all at no extra cost!
Just before Christmas last year this website went live for the very first time. It was a very proud moment as months of hard work came to fruition - a little early Christmas present for me. Since then we have had a truly amazing year. It's been a year of remarkable occurences, full of achievements, highlights and memorable moments.
The biggest achievement was definitely getting the site up and running... and then keeping it there! I'm tremendously proud of how it has all come together. Every time I get a nice comment about how pretty the site is, or how lovely our products are I get a warm, happy glow. I don't think that will ever stop.
I've been totally blown away by the response to my little business. From the love and support of my friends and family, through to Likes and comments on facebook and twitter from people I've never met, fabulous articles and mentions on some of my favourite blogs, and even coverage in national newspapers like the Guardian and Independent. It's still tough trying to get the word out far and wide, but the response from new customers and friends makes it all worthwhile.
As well as our online boutique, we've also launched our Pretty Dandy Flea events and have enjoyed 2 so far, with more planned for 2013. It's been a blast to take Pretty Dandy offline and meet our customers face to face. It's also great to support our local craft, art and vintage community by offering them the chance to come together at a vibrant, unique event. We work with as many individual artists and designer-makers as possible on the site, but it's nice to be able to spread the net a little wider too.
Other highlights include: starting our twitter chat (look for the #DandyChat hashtag!), reaching 2000 followers on twitter, our first famous customer, our first order, our first 10 orders, our first 100 orders, seeing our traffic stats start to grow, getting the chance to work with local artists, being part of the Decorex 100, doing our first ever flash sale, running competitions and giving out prizes to happy customers, meeting lovely twitter friends at the London Design Festival, finding lots of fabulous creative homewares to share and seeing the love and support people show for independent businesses, even in tough times.

And thanks also to all my friends and family who put up with a lot of me telling them about lovely new things in stock on the site and checking my phone every five minutes! Thank you all for your support, especially my lovely husband, Anders.
