I came across an image on Pinterest recently which really caught my eye. This bright light hallway filled with colourful rugs has such a relaxed, happy vibe that I immediately want to recreate it. I think it offers a great balance of elegance and vitality, colour and calm. Keeping the pattern low, mixing it up and leaving no gaps between the rugs draws the eye down the hallway and helps it to look light and large. I love colour and am always interested in finding inspiration for new ways of using colour in my home, combining different tones, creating beautiful palettes and so on. This week I'm taking inspiration from record sleeves - a wonderful place to find great design, illustration and use of colour. These are a mixture of vintage and modern designs, with bold mixed colour palettes and strong graphic shapes.
