Creative Nottingham
If you live in (or near) Nottingham and haven't yet seen or visited the CQ Pop Up then I heartily recommend a trip.
Located in the building which formerly housed Dwell interiors store, it is a giant pop-up shop packed full of wonderful local designers, makers, artists, photographers, bakers, upcyclers and more. It's a real treasure trove and is only there for a limited time, so don't miss out!
We were fortunate enough to be a part of the whole thing when they kindly took us in when our Pretty Dandy Flea had last minute venue problems a few weeks ago. As Mary from the Knitting Academy said, we were like Mary & Joseph on our donkey and they found a little room at the inn for us!
So without further ado here are a few photographs which show just some of the wonderful work on offer - well worth popping in for your Christmas presents!
Rhonda cushion by Nick Holdsworth
A lovely display from Debbie Bryan Studio
I'm partial to a flamingo and this wall hanging from Green Safari is no exception!
Luxury Yarns & knitting kits available from the Knitting Academy
You can even pick up unique photography packages for non-studio, creative family photographs from Melkorka Photography
Designer maker display from Lexie Mac
I wonder if these ladybird slippers from Elefair come in adult sizes?
Cards & more from artist Corrina Rothwell
Jewellery made by Abiye
I'm also a big fan of African prints and think this bold skirt by AFP Clothing is wonderful.
Designer Sarah Turner (who you can see in the picture!) makes wonderful sculptural lighting from plastic bottles - wonderful eco-friendly designer products. I could see this large light hanging in a plush hotel lobby, but luckily there's also a smaller version for those of us without high ceilings and sweeping staircases!
Stylish textiles and homewares from Back & Forth
And perfect for Christmas... these fab colourful tights and socks by Aeffia.
If you get tired of Christmas shopping you can have a coffee in the cafe, and daydream about romantic wedding dresses courtesy of local designer Angela Vickers
As you can see, people like it!
And we like the CQ team, big thanks to Ella, Kathy, Kirsty and everyone who made us so welcome at the last minute for the Pretty Dandy Flea.
The Creative Quarter are doing some great work in boosting awareness of all the wonderful things that happen in Nottingham. Pop over and give their facebook page a like on the internet and go and give the shop a like in person!
CQ Pop Up, Fletcher Gate (former Dwell building, next to Tesco) - there's parking over the road in the Lace Market car park, or you can use the tram and get off at the Lace Market tram stop.
