Christmas gift ideas for Mum 2013
Mums can be tricky to buy for at Christmas. You don't want to get her the same thing every year - perfume, posh bath bubbles, a dressing gown or a book. But it is tricky to keep coming up with new ideas all the time.
To try and help make your Christmas shopping easier I've picked out a selection of our products which I think would work really well for Mums. I've used my Mum, my Mum-In-Law and my friend who is a new Mum as my inspiration, so hopefully there will be a good range for you to choose from.
Star candleholder
This stylish candleholder is handmade in Nottinghamshire from vintage tins, pie dishes, spoons, trophies and more. Each candeholder is a one-of-a-kind so you will get a great gift which you can be certain no one else will be giving!
Pottery Teapot
If your Mum loves a good cuppa then this beautiful teapot could be the perfect present. It's thrown and glazed by hand and is based on Japanese designs for teapots with a unique ergonomic handle and spout.
Glass Photo Frames
A photograph can be a wonderful gift, especially when put into a delicate, double sided frame like this. You could also use the frame to hold a paper cut, negatives, old letters, money or other keepsakes and mementoes. This is a gift which you can truly personalise and turn into a treasured possession.
Hand Printed Apron
If your Mum loves to cook, like my friend, then a beautiful hand printed apron like this could make a gorgeous gift to unwrap this Christmas. It is printed in a delicate dusky pink, or sky blue, using antique printing blocks to create a fabulous contemporary pattern. Matching oven mitts are also available.
Lambswool Cushion in Oatmeal
These lovely lambswool cushions are super soft with a chic large scale cable knit pattern. We have the oatmeal coloured cushions in stock, which are all finished by hand with beautiful buttons. Soft, luxurious and very snuggly. A fab gift.
Hare Art Print
If your Mum loves art then why not pick out a print? We have stylish contemporary prints, colourful illustrations and unique screenprints like this beautiful Hare Art Print by artists Orwell and Goode. Heavy detail in charcoal combines well with a fun pop of colour with the yellow hares.
Antique Glass Candlesticks
For a stylish tablesetting, or to use as a decorative accessory, give the gift of an elegant candlestick like these. The gorgeous silver glass candlesticks come in large & small and have a lovely patina which gives them an antique feel.
Handpainted Bird Houses
If your Mum loves her garden and the little birds in it, like my Mum-In-Law, then this would make a lovely gift. Dainty, colourful and very pretty, these bird houses come in red, green or blue and are a lovely way to care for our feathered friends.
Contemporary Magazine Rack
If your Mum has a modern home, like mine, then this magazine rack makes a great present - and a fun shaped parcel under the tree! Shaped from chrome wire into a house, it is ideal for all your favourite reads - and comes with the delightful detail of a little guy in the middle having a browse!
I hope this post has helped give you some gift ideas for your Mum... or indeed any of your friends and relatives! Other suggestions I might make for that elusive gift would include tea towels, table runners, cushions, vintage china, candleholders or some lovely stationery - have a browse and I'm sure you'll find something special.
Happy gift buying!
