A Christmas stroll through Barcelona

For the first time this year I will be spending Christmas away from my home and family, enjoying the festive season in my new home town of Barcelona.

The blue skies and sunshine were making it a little tricky to get into the Christmas spirit (I'm used to England's chilly days and frosty mornings!), so I decided to take a stroll through the city as dusk fell, taking my camera and snapping things that put me in a festive mood.

Hope you enjoy them!

ara Home Christmas Decs
I love these unusual Christmas decorations on Zara Home... kind of frothy, messy, a little silly and fun!

Christmas lights in Barcelona
Those beautiful blue skies I mentioned... along with one of the many sets of Christmas lights around the city

Hotel in Barcelona
I love the funny big baubles on this hotel... I can't wait to go by at night!

A fab display on Passeig de Gracia
Another great display on Passeig de Gracia

Hotel 1898, Barcelona
The hotels are all twinkly now

As are the fast food shops... this is too pretty to be a burger joint!

Casa Beethoven Barcelona
I love the beautiful shapes of this music shop Casa Beethoven

A Christmas star
By chance I spotted a Christmas star up high

Las Ramblas flower sellers
The Ramblas is full of beautiful red poinsettias

Las Ramblas Christmas 2013
And these magical lights in the trees

Finally... the best moment of all...
Bon Nadal
This became....

Bon Nadal
Before my very eyes!

Merry Christmas from Barcelona!
