An original pin-up painted by Joyce Ballantyne, one of the best female artists of pin-ups in the fifties. This piece was the cover of the prestigious "Artist's Sketch Pad" calendar of 1956. This January page follows the format of the calendar, with one central image showing an activity related to the month, surrounded by smaller linked sketches.

As a female pin-up artist, Joyce was a member of a small club. Her natural, energetic paintings are thoroughly evocative of the 1950's and beautiful to look at, with this vintage calendar page being no exception. A wonderful piece of history for you to own.
